Network Event
25th July at St James Centre, Malcolm Street, Derby
A free event for artists; arts practitioners; organisations and community groups working in, or interested in working in community and participatory arts.
The day is designed to give plenty of opportunity to network, discuss your work, ask questions, share experiences and find out more information about a range of subjects and issues affecting everyone working in participatory arts.
This is also your chance to influence future EMPAF work and events as each of the sessions is designed to bring out issues that are most relevant to you.
Activities timetable:
All day – Information tables / market place – Cultivate, ACE, EMPAF and attenders own information.

11am Professional Development / professional practice - a two way process
Room 1 For artists and freelance arts workers
What you expect v what you get -Employing freelancers from the freelancers point of view. Facilitated session covering subjects such as:

Room 3 For Voluntary/Community Groups
Facilitated session on how to set up and run your project – the event management basics
12.30pm Lunch and networking / market stalls / signposting

2pm Presentation on Trends, Influences and Issues (includes Q&A)

2.45pm Practice Development - The practical considerations
Facilitated sharing session exploring examples, experiences and discussions of projects by art form with specific session for community groups looking at practical considerations across art form:
1. Music
2. Performance based arts and festivals
3. Visual arts and craft
4. Digital, new media, multi media
5. Practical issues and shared experience across all arts forms for community groups
3.45pm Coffee and networking
4.30pm International Connections
Presentation of different approaches from EMPAF members with examples of international working, how projects were developed and relationships created and sustained. With open sharing session for participants to discuss own experiences and issues.
