Sat 31st July, 2010, 10am to 2pm
Derbyshire Constabulary, The Quad, Derby University and DerbyCity Partnership are holding a public event on Derby Marketplace called:
"Derby City's Giant Community Canvas"
Sat 31 July, 2010 ~ 10:00-14:00
'... bringing our communities together' through art'.
The aim of this event is to celebrate Derby's children and young people, different generations and all of our differences through art.
There will be 5 small marquees providing facilities for anyone of any age or abilities to paint a picture.
Each painting will then be later scanned in order to create a Giant Canvas that will be exhibited on
Derby City's Council House throughout September 2010.
Mayor Nath and Assistant Chief Constable Dee Collins will open this first event of its kind in Derby. Dance and Music will accompany the event so it should be a fantastic day.
