So what does it all mean? To participate in the Coalition's Big Society? The general approach seems to be one that emphasises social responsibility and
community action. Are there parallels with participatory arts? Can there be a
real transfer of power to communities where the most vulnerable adults benefit?
Can participatory arts position itself as the vehicle through which communities
can be brought together, strengthened, and speak directly to those in power? Or
does the Big Society agenda work against principles of participatory art
practice?
