Following a successful bid to the Baring Foundation, Collective Encounters is looking to engage exceptional arts and health practitioner/s to support Live and Learn; an arts and health project taking place across Merseyside. Through Live and Learn we aim to improve the experiences of people with dementia through engagement in arts and reminiscence techniques. Two separate freelance positions are available,

Third Age Acting Company Director

The total fee for this freelance contract is £10, 000 over two years. We envisage approximately two days per week will be required to ensure the project is fully executed. The successful candidate will have

· Over two years experience of delivering practical workshops either in an arts and health setting or with people in their third and fourth age.

· Experience of leading a theatrical devising process

· A good knowledge and understanding of art and reminiscence techniques.

· Excellent coordination and project management skills

· A commitment to their own professional development.

· A broad understanding of evaluation in the arts.

Arts and Dementia Workshop Leader and Consultant

The total fee for this freelance contract is £5, 000 over two years. The successful candidate will have

· A sound knowledge and understanding of the role arts can play in improving the experiences of people with dementia.

· Extensive experience of delivering practical work in an arts and health setting.

· Ability to engage and communicate with people at all levels.

· The ability to work across a range of different art forms.

· Experience of writing research reports, training packages and toolkits.

The company will consider applications from individuals who wish to make an application for both contracts. Contracts start in July 2011, and the successful candidate/s will be required to work from Collective Encounter’s office, in care homes and in community settings.
