‘A Decade of Sculpture in the Garden’
Since 2001 the University of Leicester has hosted and supported this major sculpture show. The exhibition is set in the unique and striking setting of the Harold Martin Botanic Garden which offers an exceptional environment to present a wide-ranging collection of sculpture made in an array of materials, different scales and alternative designs.
The 2010 exhibition, Hearts, Heads and Hands attracted national and international artists and approximately 20,000 visitors.
This exhibition will be a reflection of the last 10 years of Sculpture in the Garden but will also present some of the most exceptional current contemporary practice and will again be curated by sculptor Dr John Sydney Carter FRBS. The exhibition is being managed by Embrace Arts, the University of Leicester’s arts centre.
We are inviting expressions of interest from sculptors and artists to submit.
If you wish to be considered for the 2011 exhibition, which will be taking place from Saturday 25 June to Sunday 30 October 2011, please supply images, CV detailing your experience, an artist’s statement, and an indication of the sizes of your work. If proposing a new piece of sculpture, please send a photograph or drawing and up to 10 images (no more than 300dpi) of previous work. Please note all works should be suitable for outdoors display.
