Lincolnshire Connecting Communities Showcase Guidance Notes – Lincolnshire Showcase During May – Oct 2011 Connecting Communities will showcase exceptional cultural projects, events and festivals that celebrate Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Rutland’s rich cultural heritage, outstanding natural environment, local traditions and hidden gems, as part of Igniting Ambition, the Cultural Olympiad in the East Midlands. Proposals are now invited for cultural projects and events planned to take place in Lincolnshire between May – October 2011. We expect proposals to be dynamic and visionary, with the potential to impact upon other social, economic and cultural areas. Programme proposals will be asked to demonstrate at least four of the following six elements:
The Lincolnshire Connecting Communities Showcase is seeking project proposals that achieve geographic spread across the county or that have links to the other participating counties – Northamptonshire and Rutland; offers a balance of art forms and shines a spotlight on an innovative programme that genuinely reaches new audiences and in so doing creates new and long-lasting partnerships. The project proposals will create impacts and legacies that will stretch into 2012 and beyond. Eligible projects must be delivered and showcased within the dates of May – October 2011. Applications will only be accepted from organisations or individuals planning to work within the county of Lincolnshire and should support projects that reflect the unique nature of the county; will develop new and sustainable audiences and aim to deliver a lasting legacy. The Lincolnshire Connecting Communities Showcase is managed by cultural solutions (consultants), on behalf of Lincolnshire County Council and Igniting Ambition in the East Midlands. Initial funding commitments of between £5,000 and £20,000 per application will be made to successful applicants. These awards will represent between 20% - 50% of your overall project costs. Igniting Ambition will not fund 100% of project costs. As there is a limited amount of funding available, awards are more likely to be in the region of £5000 - £10,000. Applicants wishing to submit applications for more than £10,000 should first discuss their project proposals with the cultural solutions team who will be able to advise appropriately. Any initial funding commitment will be made on the basis of the capacity to achieve sufficient match funding to realise the project, and applicants will be asked to detail their fund raising strategy as part of the application. The Connecting Communities Partnership reserves the right to withdraw initial commitments should sufficient match funding not be achieved by the end of November 2010 to realistically deliver the project in 2011.
