The Square Dance Callers Club of Great Britain is offering scholarships to caller school to anyone willing to set up a (non-profit) square dance club to teach dancers to Mainstream level after qualifying. All student callers are provided with two years of supervision from a mentor. To be eligible to apply you must be thoroughly familiar with the Mainstream syllabus and comfortable with the idea of teaching it. If you have no experience of square dancing, you will need to complete the beginners course to Mainstream level first. Several clubs in the East Midlands are offering courses starting in September - visit www.uksquaredancing.com for details. Call Zoe on 0115-928 2896 if you would like a chat about this first. Training is also available for round dance cuers.

This offer still holds. Courses ab initio are available in various parts of the region from September onwards and Dixie Derby SDC in Beeston (Nottingham) welcomes beginners all year round. There are also opportunities for training as a round dance cuer. Please contact me for information on both types of training.
