Kanu Gandhi’s Mahatma (Apna Arts)
Date: October to December 2002
An exhibition of photographs of Mahatma Gandhi with other important figures and family members during a pivotal period of South Asian history was exhibited at the Galleries of Justice ‘Experian gallery’. This exhibition was a personal insight by Mahatma’s cousin Kanu Ghandi. Kanu Ghandi belonged to mahatma’s inner circle and was privileged to be able to photograph mahatma Gandhi in intimate situations as well as important historical events.
This important 4exhibition was discovered neglected in India and brought back to the UK and restored by artist Saleem Arif Quadri.
A pack of ten cards and text was also produced to compliment the exhibition, which can be ordered from APNA Arts for £4.99.
