Tuesday 3rd the wonders of limestone, at Deep Dale, activities from 10.30am – 3.30pm. Meet at White Lodge Car Park on A6, Bus stop: Monsall Dale

Wednesday 25th, Heather, moorland and wild open spaces,

Moorland Discovery Centre, National Trust at Longshaw (S11 7TZ), activities from 10.30am – 3.30pm

October: the season changes

Saturday 16th Autumn Richness, how the wild gets ready for winter: what will we find? toadstools, nuts, berries? Ilam Hall, (DE6 2AZ) 10.30am – 3.30pm

Sunday 17t hApple Day. Old apples, ancient fruits, woodland delights and stories at Dove Valley Centre (SK17 0PR), between Longnor and Sheen, 11am – 3.30pm, buses to Longnor and follow footpaths along Dove Dale

November: the cold comes

Sunday 14th Winter Woods. Get to know the bare bones of trees and the secrets of a winter forest. Poole’s Cavern Country Park, Green Lane, Buxton (SK17 9DH), 10.30am – 3.30pm

Cars: why not fill your car with people – share with friends!

Costs: the Plants activities are free but car parking charges will apply where appropriate

How events work

Most of these sessions are “drop-in” ones – you don’t need to book, just turn up and join in

Extreme weather

In case of really awful weather – strong winds, very heavy rain, events might be cancelled…..check on-line

Picnics

are always to be encouraged but we are not organising formal eating places or effective hand washing!
