Training Partners Wanted
Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning (Children and Young People).
Dance4 is currently looking for experienced training partners to work over the next two years, to provide training, observation opportunities and contribute to the roll out of the Diploma in Dance Teaching and Learning (Children and Young People) across the East Midlands. Dance4 is working with De Montfort University, Leicester to prepare undergraduate students for the Diploma and support the long-term investment in dance education.
Dance4, Swindon Dance, Laban and Yorkshire Dance through Youth Dance England have all been successful in raising funds from Paul Hamlyn to rollout the qualification from 2010-2012 and to build relationships between FE, HE and CPD providers to enable integrated delivery model.
Background:
Designed for practitioners working with children and young people outside formal education, this new Diploma is an initiative of the Dance Training and Accreditation Partnership (DTAP) led by Youth Dance England. It awards 90 credits at Level 6 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), which is the comparable level to a 3rd year of a BA (Hons) Degree.
For further information and to read the qualification outline visit www.trinitycollege.co.uk/DDTAL
How the Diploma will be delivered?
Dance4 is one of the first registered centres in England, to support candidates (dance artists, teachers and practitioners) to take the qualification from September. We will register candidates with Trinity College London, provide guidance to support candidates in preparing for assessment and advise them on where they can access training to develop their knowledge and skills.
Dance4 will have a pool of dedicated mentors to provide guidance to support candidates in preparing for assessment and advise on where they can access training to develop their knowledge and skills. After a comprehensive training needs analysis with their mentor candidates will be signposted to training partners across the region to deliver high-quality activities. This will result in individuals having a tailored programme to enable them to get the very best support and guidance to successfully pass the qualification.
How to become a Training Partner?
Dance4 is currently mapping existing areas of Continued Professional Development and training provision to see how far existing courses can support and possibly adapt for inclusion in the qualification. This will be undertaken through a Training Provision Analyse (see attached).
As a result Dance4 will establish a consortium of training partners consisting of regional dance agencies, FE and HE institutions, private dance sector and partners from the public sector to deliver a broad range of services to candidates, advocate for the qualification and identify practitioners to take on the qualification.
Please note: Training sessions don’t only have to be for candidates of the Diploma.
If you are interested in being a training partner you will need to submit the attached Training Provision Analysis send back to Vanessa McGuire-Youth Dance Strategy Manager email dtap@dance4.co.uk or Dance4, 3-9 Hockley, Nottingham, NG1 1FH.
Deadline: Monday 19 July 5.00pm
Launch event:
