CPAL Training will be commencing in June, with 15 young professional from across the North West; over 9 days the trainees will be better prepared to developing their working practise within the Participatory Arts Sector.

The content of the course covers:

  • What is project management?

  • Defining, planning and working with PM tools

  • Change, communication and closure

  • Time management and people management

  • Managing resources and risks

  • Stakeholders and evaluation

The training also includes an opportunity to share practise through action learning sets, as well as optional mentoring provision from C-PAL member organisations.

The training was devised by C-PAL members, alongside trainer Jo Verrant back in 2006. And with thanks to a Grant for Arts from the Arts Council, we are able to deliver two courses one in 2011 and one in 2012.

The second cohort of training is still recruiting. To find out more information contact Naomi Whitman or see our documents page.

CORE SKILLS FRAMEWORK; FOR THE PARTICITORY ARTS SECTOR READY FOR TRIAL

C-PAL has developed a comprehensive Core Skills Framework; for the participatory arts sector. We are now in a position to begin to test and trial it with organisations and individuals across the country.

Would you like to find an efficient way to:

  • Articulate and assess professional practice

  • Advocate professional practice within the arts and non-arts sectors

  • Plan and implement projects

  • Map responsibility to experience and as necessary to pay rates

  • Learn more as an organisation or individual

This could be an instrumental tool for your organstional or personal development in the next year.

We are asking people to test it, reflect on its uses and feedback their findings.
