Performance of a lifetime!
Wed 4th July, 2012 by Surtal Arts
Surtal Arts is proud to present one of their most talented artists in the Olympic Torch spectacular dance and music performances at Darley Park on Friday 29th June at 5.30pm, where the Celebration Cauldron will be lit followed by an exhilarating ceremony and stage show.
Born and bred in Derby, Nisha Nath, one of the emerging young choreographers in the UK, performs in a specially commissioned piece ‘Derby Today’ which is an amalgam of music, words, dance and the moving image spectacular.
Nisha is well known for her experience of cross cultural dance choreography where she blends Indian Classical dance – Kathak and Bollywood and Western contemporary dance movements to capture Derby's cultural richness. Her dance is further enhanced by the contemporary sound of the Trinity Band interfaces and counterpoints that of the musicians from Sinfonia ViVA. The music contrasts and complements the dance movement and digital visual imagery of Glenn Millington which pulsates across an array of Derby destinations.
This multi-artform new commission (Derby Today) reflecting the City of Derby which is Britain's best kept secret.
Surtal Arts invites everyone to come and see this spectacular piece and join in the exhilarating Torch Relay ceremony on Friday 29th June.
