'Act Up' is a Youth Theatre drawn from the Saffron Lane and Eyres Monsell Estates in Leicester, where Speakeasy's offices are based. The group meets at Southfields Library to mount between four and five productions per year. Past successes have included Macbeth, Dr Faustus and Elektra performed at the Phoenix Arts Centre, versions of classics such as The Crucible and Othello, as well as group devised work, theatre trips and more. Speakeasy oversee and direct the work of Act Up, support the young people with references for College applications and the like, and provide occasional theatre trips and other extras for the group. Act Up! is a FREE Youth Theatre for the Saffron Lane / Eyres Monsell area is looking for new members. Our next project is from the 19th -24th October and starts at 10:00 on the Monday and will run all week 10:00 - 4:00
