A project for adult learners in Wreake Valley Community College for developing skills in different mediums, and in particular a small-scale sculpture project inspired by the work of Giacometti, instigated by development worker Chris Wright.
From a basic framework on a wood base, a figure was built up using layers of clay.
Chris then guided group members in photographing their sculptures using a digital camera, and then showed them how to download the images onto a computer.
The group gained an insight into sculpture using the Giacometti style and enjoyed the challenge of learning new tactile skills.
The project was supported by Wreake Valley, Roundhill and Longslade Community Colleges, and also by Charnwood Borough Council and East Midlands Arts.
