In the early summer of 2010,
Cavebreakers
will be running their first project funded by Kingswood Specialist Arts College
and KCAP.
The project will explore the memories of older people in Corby, and use these memories to create music, images and soundscapes.
Over five days participants will:
Interview older people about their
• memories of Corby, how the town has changed, and their hopes for the future.
Use simple percussion, combined with • audio recording and music technology to create musical pieces and soundscapes from those memories.
Create images to accompany the music • and soundscapes.
Publish the results on the internet via the • Cavebreakers website and elsewhere.
Create DVDs of their work for themselves.•
The Resonances project is completely free to take part in. You won’t need any musical experience, but if you can clap in time or pick out a tune on a keyboard that may help.

We are looking for young people and adults to take part in the project.
We are also looking for older people who would like to contribute their
memories and voices.
If you are a young person and sbout to • go into year 6, 7, 8 or 9, and you have an adult who you would like to work with on this project – this could be a parent, uncle, aunt or other relative, carer, youth worker, or friend of the family, then get in touch!
If you are adult and you have a young • person aged between 12 and 15 who you would like to work with on this project then – get in touch!
If you are an older person and you would • like to contribute your memories and your voice to the project then – get in touch!
